The Cirque de Gavarnie is an absolutely breath-taking sight located in the High Pyrenees of Gavarnie-Gèdre in south-western France. This huge natural amphitheater is one of the best examples of glacial cirques in Europe, 1600 meters in diameter and 6 km around. Stairs, trails and even ladders provide access to the heart of the cirque – the towering, majestic Brèche de Roland. This impressive limestone arch-like formation is an awe-inspiring 800 meters wide and 400 meters high. Inside the formation, a stream tumbles over a cascade and forms a waterfall that is more than 300 meters high. From the cirque, you have panoramic views of the Pyrenees range. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a popular destination for both tourists and locals alike. If you're looking for a stunning and memorable adventure in nature, Cirque de Gavarnie is the perfect place!
