📍 From Gardens, Türkiye
Çırağan Palace stands on the European shore of the Bosphorus in Istanbul’s Beşiktaş district, between the neighborhoods of Beşiktaş and Ortaköy. Built for Ottoman Sultan Abdülaziz in the 19th century, it belongs to the final era of imperial palace architecture, blending a formal European-style waterfront composition with richly carved Ottoman ornament. After a major fire in 1910, the palace was later restored and incorporated into a luxury hotel complex. Its long pale-stone façade, rhythmic arched windows, elaborate masonry and direct relationship with the water make it especially recognizable from the Bosphorus, where the building’s symmetry and scale can be seen more clearly than from the street.
