The Church of Saint John Baptist stands in the center of the city of Gubbio in Umbria, Italy. Built in the 18th century by architect Ercole Ferraro and decorated by Jacopo Ricciarelli, the church shows a mix of Baroque and Renaissance styles. The façade of the church is composed of a big central door surmounted by a pediment decorated with porphyry stones and limited by two twin towers. Inside, the main feature of the church is the wooden choir of the seventeenth century and the rich stucco decorations of art, mainly intended to portray the episodes of St. John the Baptist's life. Above the main altar rises a beautiful painting depicting the baptism of Jesus Christ. Above the choir is a well-preserved painting of Saint John the Baptist attributed to Bernardo Radi. The Church is worth a visit to admire the beautiful façade and the art and craftsmanship inside.
