The Church of Saint Anatolia, or Chiesa di Santa Anatolia, is a Catholic place of worship in Petritoli, a historic hill town in the province of Fermo in Italy’s Marche region. Its dedication recalls Saint Anatolia, an early Christian martyr whose cult has longstanding roots in central Italy. The church forms part of Petritoli’s layered religious heritage, set amid a landscape of cultivated hills between the Apennines and the Adriatic. Photographs gain local context from the contrast between the church’s sacred architecture, the compact townscape, and the softly folded countryside characteristic of the Fermano area.
