The Christus Church in Windhoek, Namibia, is the oldest Lutheran church in the country and an important landmark in the city. Built in 1890 by German settlers, it is an impressive red sandstone building that features a three-tier tower, intricate curved gables and beautiful carved decorations. Its interior is decorated with many unique designs, wood carvings and colorful stained glass windows. It is a popular tourist attraction and a beautiful sight to behold! Christus Church is also symbolic of Namibia's turbulent history as it served as a major center of freedom during the anti-apartheid movement. Visitors can attend services or access the church grounds and make time to explore the nearby attractions such as the National Botanical Gardens, the National History Museum and the August 26 Nkrumah Memorial.
