Christiansborg Palace is considered the heart of Denmark’s government. Home to the Royal Reception Rooms, the Royal Family’s stables and kitchen, and the chambers of the Danish Parliament, it serves a number of important roles. Most popularly, visitors flock to the palace to explore such sites as the Upper Great Hall, the Royal Library, and the chapel. Once a yard devoted to sport and culture, the palace grounds are now a public park that is beautiful all year round. You can also visit the ruins of the 11th-century Bishop’s Castle beneath Palace Square as well as the Royal Stables. Take a guided tour or tour on your own, there's plenty to do here!
