The iconic Christian Krohg Statue is one of Oslo's most recognizable landmarks, located in the heart of the city of Sentrum. The stainless steel sculpture stands 8.2 metres tall, and depicts the Norwegian artist of the same name, Christian Krohg, in his signature hat leaning on a walking cane. The statue's purpose is to pay homage to Krohg's contributions to the progress of Norwegian visual arts. The sculpture was designed by Krohg's own daughter, Olga. Since its unveiling in 1995, the Christian Krohg statue has become a global symbol of pride in the city of Sentrum, and is a popular spot for sightseeers.
