The Chiesetta dei Monti di Lego is a small mountain chapel in the pastoral settlement of Lego, high above Mergoscia at the entrance to Switzerland’s Verzasca Valley. Surrounded by meadows, woodland and traditional stone rustici, it reflects the seasonal farming culture that shaped Ticino’s upland slopes. Its modest scale stands out against the broad landscape, with views from the surrounding clearings reaching toward Lake Maggiore, the Locarno plain and the nearby peaks. The chapel, scattered stone roofs and changing mountain light create the site’s most recognizable composition. Monti di Lego is reached on foot by hiking paths rather than as a roadside stop.
