The Chiesa Parrocchiale di S. Giacomo Maggiore Apostolo, located in the small village of Ferla in Sicily, Italy, is a stunning example of Romanesque architecture. Dating back to the 12th century, the small chapel is significant both historically and architecturally. Built with white stone from the nearby Mt. Eurialo, it has a sturdy façade with one semicircular and two square windows, and a simple entrance framed by two antique columns. Inside, the church is bathed in a soft light and its faithful preservation of the ancient artwork is remarkable. Built in an octagonal layout, the interior features impressive altars, an incomparable font, and a richly decorated bell tower with pointed arch. The Chiesa Parrocchiale di S. Giacomo Maggiore Apostolo is just one of the many remarkable buildings worth discovering in the Sicilian countryside and is located near the famous archaeological site of Selinunte.
