Chiesa Fortezza di San Pietro is an impressive Renaissance-era fortress-church located in Lingueglietta, Italy. The building was constructed from 1510 to 1514 as part of a system of fortification across the Gulf of La Spezia. It was originally used both as a military structure and as a place of worship, and it still serves both functions today. Inside, visitors will find the remains of its original Gothic frescoes and decorations, as well as 16th-century paintings and sculptures. The fortress features a large bell tower with a balcony, which offers a commanding view of the Gulf of La Spezia. Outside, visitors will see two Renaissance courtyards surrounded by fortress walls and various outbuildings. Since its restoration in the 1990s, Chiesa Fortezza di San Pietro has become a popular attraction for its unique combination of architectural features.
