Chiesa di San Peyre is a beautiful 12th-century Romanesque church located in the small mountain town of Elva in the Aosta Valley, Italy. The church is impressive both inside and out, with its two tiers of arches and round-arched windows set into a façade of rough stone. The entrance of the church is decorated with an intricately carved stone frieze. Inside, the walls are adorned with numerous religious frescoes and a notable wooden statue of St. Peter bearing the keys. Also worth noting is the fresco of the Madonna and Child that is by the local 18th century painter Luciano Giacondino. The church is a great destination for those interested in history and art, and it is a great place to take a peaceful walk and enjoy the views of the Alps.
