The Chiesa di San Giacomo is a stunningly beautiful Romanesque church located in the town of Trani, on the south-eastern coast of Italy. Built in the 10th century, the church is known for its astoundingly large central nave and its Polychrome marble, which makes a grand statement in the cathedral. The interior of the church houses a magnificent fifteenth-century fresco painting of the Madonna and Child with St. James, and a beautiful sixteenth-century altarpiece by Flemish artist Giovanni Balducci. Other notable pieces of art include sculptures and frescos by Elia Salvi. Take some time to admire the stunning façade of the church as well, which includes a pointed arch, three loggias and various marble decorations.
