The Chiesa della Certosa is a religious building built in the 11th century in the small village of Pontignano, in the Siena province of Italy. It is a beautiful example of Romanesque art, and contains a remarkable façade, finely decorated with porch and arches. Inside, you will find a decorated altar and interesting works of art, such as the wooden Crucifix, the Madonna with Child and St. John of the 14th century. The crypt of Certosa displays interesting frescoes dating to the 11th and 12th century, while the bell tower stands outside, on the northern side. Many of its details have been preserved, making it a significant spot to visit. Today the church is a great place to appreciate the Italian cultural past, and an exceptional place to take beautiful medieval photos.
