The Chiesa Collegiata dominates Piazza Alberico Gentili, the civic heart of San Ginesio’s walled historic center in the Marche hills. Its façade is remarkable for the clear meeting of two architectural languages: a restrained Romanesque lower section in pale stone and an elaborate late-Gothic upper section enriched with pointed arches, tracery and warm terracotta ornament. Seen frontally across the square, these contrasting textures and colors create the church’s most recognizable view, while the surrounding brick buildings and the monument to jurist Alberico Gentili place it firmly within the town’s medieval urban setting.
