The Bataan-Corregidor Memorial Bridge - located in Chicago, United States - is a historic bridge connecting the Pilsen and Bridgeport neighborhoods. It was built in 1966 to commemorate the Filipino soldiers who fought in World War II. It is a two-span, steel truss bridge designed by Hood and Burns, an architectural firm from the city. The bridge has a graceful arched upper portion and two tapered towers, each adorned with the names of soldiers from the Philippines. The bridge is popular among pedestrians, tourists, and cyclists, offering great views of the city. On the corners of the bridge are two striking sculptures which honor Filipino soldiers. The entire bridge is lit with colorful lights, which makes it even more beautiful at night. There is also a plaque which contains an inscription commemorating the brave men who fought in World War II.
