The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) Vault Door and Basement of the Chicago Board of Trade Building is a historic landmark in Chicago, Illinois. The building, originally built in 1885, is widely regarded as one of the most important buildings in the financial district. Its basement features a unique vault door, which has been preserved since it was added in 1923. The door has five separate locks, each belonging to a different individual, and is the last line of defense protecting the CBOT's confidential trading information. The vault, which is modeled after the famous Detroit Bank Vault, is also a popular spot for photographers and visitors alike. The ornamental pillars, air ducts, and bright lights provide a unique view and make for great opportunities to explore and capture the history of the Chicago Board of Trade.
