Chicago Anchor is a popular sculpture located along the Chicago Riverwalk in downtown Chicago. It is a whimsical illustration of the city’s spirit and history, dedicated to the innumerable adventurers, explorers and sailors who put their trust in the power of the winds. The sculpture was designed by renowned local artist Ruth Aizuss Migdal, and it consists of 4 pairs of bronze anchors that rest atop an elaborately designed limestone base. The sculpture is an iconic symbol of Chicago, inspiring visitors and locals alike. While beautiful at any time of day, be sure to check the sculpture out at night when its LED-lit lights come alive. Take a stroll along the riverwalk to enjoy the view, snap some pictures and just relax.
