Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is an iconic national monument set within Liberty Square in Taipei. Designed by architect Yang Cho-cheng and opened in 1980, this majestic structure features a blue octagonal roof signifying eternity, and the stately white façade captures striking visual symmetry amid the lush gardens and large reflecting pool, providing excellent photo opportunities. The stairs leading to the main hall are 89 in number, corresponding to Chiang Kai-shek’s age at his passing. Inside, you'll find a grand bronze statue of Chiang, symbolizing Chinese resilience. The changing of the guard ceremony offers dynamic life to photo series, with its intricate, disciplined movements. Visit during sunrise or sunset for the finest natural lighting and less crowded scenes.
