Chengdu East Railway Station is one of the principal passenger rail hubs of Chengdu, standing in Chenghua District on the eastern side of the Sichuan capital. Opened in 2011, it serves high-speed routes linking Chengdu with major cities including Chongqing, Xi’an and beyond, while metro connections integrate it with the urban network. Its vast, symmetrical frontage, broad forecourts and layered roof emphasize the scale of China’s modern railway system. Inside, long structural spans, repeated columns, bilingual signs and streams of travelers create strong lines and patterns; outside, the open plazas provide enough distance to frame the entire station against Chengdu’s expanding eastern skyline.
