Château Jumilhac is an exquisite castle located in the picturesque town of Jumilhac-le-Grand in the Dordogne region of France. It is a magnificent example of medieval architecture and has remained remarkably well-preserved considering its age. Founded in the 12th century as the residence of the family of Lusignan, it gradually underwent restoration and expansion until it reached its current state in 1550. It consists of two wings that form a courtyard, and includes two large towers and a chapel. Inside the castle are the period furnishings, objects of art and galleries with open courtyards from the Renaissance era. Visitors are free to explore the courtyard and buildings and admire the beautiful frescoes found in some of the walls or look out to stunning views from the many terraces. It is also home to a three hectare park that is open to the public and includes a lake. The château is open every day to visitors and provides an experience like no other.
