Château du Clos Lucé is a 15th century castle located in Amboise, France, on the banks of the Loire River. Built in 1471, it was the home of King Charles VIII and the site of the last meeting between King Francis I and Leonardo da Vinci. Today it serves as a museum dedicated to the life of da Vinci, and his many inventions and drawings as well as his contribution to Renaissance culture. The museum contains numerous machines and reconstitutions from the works of da Vinci, as well as paintings, sculptures, and over 20 models of machines he designed, such as an early version of the parachute, an armoured car, and a bridge. The castle grounds also have a walled garden with benches, as well as a playground and café.
