The magnificent Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is a 17th-century French château and is located in the picturesque village of Maincy, 50 km (30 miles) southeast of Paris. Built between 1656 and 1661 by the renowned architect Louis Le Vau, interior designer Charles Le Brun, and gardener André Le Nôtre, the Château combines the grandeur of classical Baroque style architecture and landscaping with the sophistication of 17th-century French interiors. The surrounding gardens, with fountains, geometric designs, hedges, and statuary, are some of the most grandiose creations ever to grace the French landscape. Today the Château is a must-see attraction for photographers wishing to capture some unique perspectives of France’s most elegant architecture and landscaping.
