Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is an impressive baroque-style estate located in Maincy, France. It was created in the mid-17th century for Nicolas Fouquet, the Superintendent of Finances under Louis XIV. Constructed by architect Louis Le Vau, painter Charles Le Brun, and landscape architect André Le Nôtre, the estate is often referred to as the inspiration for Versailles. The château features extensive grounds, made up of formal French gardens, landscaped parks, forests, and meadows. Visitors can admire galleries and reception rooms filled with precious furniture and artworks, ornate chambers, and a suite of guest apartments. There is also a breathtaking view of the estate from the rooftop terrace.
