Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is an outstanding French country house and estate located in the town of Maincy, France. Built by Nicolas Fouquet for Louis XIV, the Sun King, this impressive monument sure won't miss your attention when passing by. The château is the masterpiece of classic French Baroque style, being a great example of French landscape design, with its reflecting pools, formal parterres, and superbly manicured allées. The interior walls are lined with tapestries, paintings and stucco. Outside, visitors can find a magnificent and extensive park covering some 150 hectares. The beautiful park design was finished in 1672 and has remained almost perfectly preserved from the 17th century up to the present day. Modern amenities, such as golf courses, are also available for the public to enjoy.
