Château de Fontainebleau is a magnificent palace located in Fontainebleau, France. It was first built in the 12th century, and is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The palace has been extensively remodeled over the centuries, becoming a royal residence for a number of French kings. It is renowned for its extensive and beautiful gardens, as well as an impressive art collection that includes works by Rubens, Van Dyck, and Rembrandt. Visitors can also explore the breathtaking Grand Staircase, the Throne Room, the Gallery of Hercules, the apartments of Napoleon III, and the many statues and fountains that are scattered around the grounds. The palace is easy to access by public transportation and offers guided tours in several languages. An admission ticket also grants entry to the nearby park and the La Ferme de la Folie, a delightful historic farm.
