Château de Chambord is one of the most renowned and spectacular châteaux in the Loire Valley, France. The 16th-century structure was designed by the famed French Renaissance architect, Domenico da Cortona, and built to be a hunting lodge for King Francis I. The architecture of the Château is truly remarkable, featuring a double helix staircase, a wealth of Renaissance detailing, dramatic porches, and beautiful terraced grounds. The site is also home to a large park and forest, in which visitors can take relaxing strolls, take in wonderful views, and observe nature.
