The stunning Château d'Angers is an incredible fortress located in the city of Angers, France. Built in the early 11th century, it is one of the best-preserved castles in Europe, with walls 25 meters wide at the base and 17 towers, reached by drawbridges and spiral staircases. The castle served as a stronghold to protect the city of Angers and a home to past rulers. Today, the castle houses the impressive "Apocalypse Tapestry", a series of 77 scenes depicting the apocalypse and believed to have been commissioned in the late 14th century by Louis I, Duke of Anjou. The Château d'Angers is also known for its breathtaking architecture, courtyards, and beautiful gardens. Visitors can take guided tours, explore the historical interior and exterior, and even visit a museum dedicated to medieval arts and sciences. Many come to take in the atmosphere of the castle’s walls and towers.
