The Chapel of Our Lady of Damascus, located in Birgu, Malta, is a remarkable Baroque-style chapel surrounded by fortified walls. Built in 1687, this chapel served as a refuge for the Knights of St John of Jerusalem during the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. This chapel is well known for its paintings, including a 17th century painting on the chapel's dome of Our Lady with the Infant Jesus. Inside the chapel, there are several paintings as well as several sculptures including a painting of St Lawrence, a sculpture of St Joseph with Jesus, and a figure of St John. There are also a number of marble altars and a beautiful wooden sculpture of Our Lady of Damascus. The chapel is an important landmark in Birgu and is open to the public for sightseeing and prayer.
