Centro Cultural de Belém

Centro Cultural de Belém and Praça do Império are located in Lisbon, Portugal, on the Tagus River. Centro Cultural de Belém is a former monastery dedicated to Navy veterans and boasts an extensive art and history collection. The building includes galleries, an auditorium, two cloisters and a magnificent garden. The gardens feature fountains, statues and a monumental fountain, representing Portugal's past and its global empire. Praça do Império (Empire Square) is the main public square in this historic area.
