Central Station in Utrecht is one of the major railway stations in the country and is located in the heart of the city. It was opened in 1842 and has since been renovated several times. The station has nine platforms from which both national and international services depart. Additionally, the station provides facilities like a café, toilets, shops, waiting areas, and a car park. The station also has excellent links to the local bus and tram networks and is a great place to start a sightseeing or photographic tour of the city. The station is easily accessed from the train and bus services that run throughout Utrecht and travelers may also take advantage of the bike rentals offered for exploring the city.
