Centenary Gate is a ceremonial entrance to Aligarh Muslim University, marking the institution’s hundred years as a university from 1920 to 2020. Its commemorative role connects the modern campus with the educational movement founded by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, from which AMU developed. The gateway’s formal symmetry, broad central arch and flanking tower-like elements create a strong frontal composition, while the movement of students and vehicles beneath it shows that this is both a monument and a working threshold in Aligarh’s university district.
