
Cenote Zazil-Tunich is an incredible underwater sinkhole located based in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. The cenote is completely cut off from the outside by its limestone walls, and it is one of the most beautiful cenotes in the area given its depth and clarity. It was once believed to be a sacred place where rituals were performed and offerings were made since it was considered the entrance to the underworld. Nowadays, this cenote is open for visitors and provides an extraordinary underwater experience that visitors can enjoy swimming and snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters. It is also an excellent site for scuba diving where divers explore the depths of this ancient archeological site and its stunning surroundings.
