๐ United States
Causey Reservoir lies in a steep canyon in the Wasatch Mountains east of Huntsville, Utah, where it stores water from the South Fork of the Ogden River. Part of the Weber Basin water-storage system, it has narrow, branching arms that follow the contours of flooded canyon floors rather than opening into a broad lake. Rocky slopes and wooded hillsides rise directly above blue-green water, creating strong contrasts between exposed stone, dark vegetation, and reflections along sheltered shorelines. Kayaks and paddleboards provide a sense of scale beneath the canyon walls. In late summer and early autumn, kokanee salmon turn vivid red as they enter tributary streams to spawn, adding a distinctive seasonal story to the reservoir landscape.
