The Cau Temple is located in the ancient city of Hoi An, in Vietnam. It is a 19th century structure which serves as a shrine to the twin gods of the water. The temple is a sprawling complex of ornate shrines, pavilions, and pagodas, built with a mix of traditional Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese styles. Visitors can admire the colourful statues of the gods, and explore the various secondary temples and pavilions. The main altar is adorned with elaborate carved and glazed dragon figures and a giant bell, dedicated to the two gods. Surrounding the temple is the bustling Japanese Bridge Quarter known for its bustling markets, restaurants and tailors. Cau Temple is an interesting sight for visitors and a reminder of the rich offerings of the old city of Hoi An.
