
The Cattedrale Saint Etienne, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Stephen of Bourges, is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, located in Bourges, in the Loire Valley of France. Built over five centuries, between the 10th and 15th centuries, it is a mix of Romanesque, Rayonnant and Flamboyant styles.
It is renowned for its remarkable classic Façade, which is considered a jewel of Gothic art, with its metaphorical animal sculptures and intricate designs. Inside, visitors can admire the elaborate vaults, the stained-glass windows, the main organ and the curved staircase. There is also a lamp made up of over 20,000 crystals. The Cattedrale Saint Etienne also holds a large number of tombs of French kings and aristocrats from centuries past, as well as some of the oldest stained glass windows in the country.
