The historic Cattedrale di Sant'Agata is a beautiful Roman Catholic cathedral located in Catania, Sicily, Italy. Built upon the ruins of a 5th century Christian Basilica, the current cathedral was constructed in 1078 and features elements of both Baroque and Norman architecture. It boasts a grand façade, adorned with 4 portals and 2 bell towers, as well as a stunning interior showcasing an array of works of art, including mosaics, sculptures and stained glass windows. Inside there is also the chapel for the patron saint of Catania, Santa Agata, featuring some of her relics. Visiting the cathedral is an experience not to be missed out on when in Catania!
