The Cattedrale di Ripatransone stands in the elevated historic center of this southern Marche hill town. Dedicated to Saints Gregory the Great and Margaret, it is the co-cathedral of the Diocese of San Benedetto del Tronto–Ripatransone–Montalto and reflects Ripatransone’s long importance as an episcopal seat. Its restrained, pale façade and tall adjoining bell tower rise prominently above the close-set streets, creating a striking contrast between monumental church architecture and the compact medieval townscape. Inside, the broad three-nave plan leads toward the crossing and dome, where the greater height, painted decoration, and filtered light give the interior its strongest sense of scale.
