📍 Italy
Cattedrale di Palermo (Cathedral of Palermo) is a historical Roman Catholic church and the mother church of Palermo, a large city in Sicily, Italy. Built in 1184, the Cathedral is a great example of the Sicilian-Norman architectural style, a merger of elements of Byzantine and Arab cultures. The facade features three portals and a grand central rose window, while the interior is filled with ornate frescoes and sculptures. The choir is known for its 50 18th- and 19th-century chairs in the shape of angels. The transept houses the tombs of three famous members of the House of Hohenstaufen and the cathedral is home to many relics, including the mummified arm of Santa Rosalia and the relics of Santa Cristina. Visitors will also find one of the oldest organs in the world, dating from 1595. Visitors can see the Cathedral daily from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
