The Notre-Dame Cathedral of Reims is one of the greatest examples of Gothic architecture in France. This spectacular cathedral, which was largely built in the 13th century, was originally built as a coronation site, with 34 kings of France having been crowned in the cathedral, the first being Hugh Capet in 990.

The cathedral includes features such as spectacular stained glass windows, flying buttresses and huge towers that look out over the city. The interior of the cathedral is most impressive, with a 120 meter long nave, a choir room featuring intricate and detailed stone carvings, a famous sculpted door depicting 28 scenes from the Bible, as well as many tombs of French kings and royalty. Visitors to the cathedral can explore the crypt, choir room and treasury, as well as climb the towers for amazing panoramic views. The cathedral is also home to a museum, which not only displays the cathedral's various art collections, but also features the history of Reims and Reims Cathedral. The cathedral is open daily from 8:45 AM to 7 PM with a fee of €8 for adults and €6 to climb the 332 steps to the top of the South tower. Free entrance for children under 10.
