
The Château de Senlis Cathedral (Cattedrale di Notre Dame) is an iconic gothic church situated on a hill in the center of the picturesque town of Senlis in northern France. Built in 1180, this impressive cathedral is the largest and oldest building in Senlis. The interior of the church is full of stunning stained glass, intricate carvings, and glorious vaulted ceilings. Wander around this breath-taking building and take in the stunning views from the western towers. Take your time to explore the belly of the cathedral, full of ancient chapels, crypts, and opposing cloisters. Explore the magnificent stone French Romanesque sculptures that date back to the 16th century, located in the northern side of the church. This fine example of French gothic architecture is the only surviving major building from the twelfth century in the region and is open to visitors year round.
