📍 From Inside, France
Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption stands tall above the sprawling city of Clermont-Ferrand in central France. Built during the late 13th century, the Cathedral is a stunning sight and a testament to Gothic architecture. Its prominent spire rises to a height of over 406 feet, and the interior hosts a wealth of both historical and architectural treasures. The entrance is crowned with two rose windows, while detailed statues and stained glass windows can be found within. Some of the Cathédrale’s forebears, such as the baptismal font, Sedes Episcopalis, an astrolabe clock, and a pulpit, still stand. Visitors should also take note of the tomb of Bishop Guillaume de la Voulte, crafted from a single block of Volvic stone from the Auvergne region. Soaring ceilings, archways and grandeur await those exploring this stunning Cathedral.
