Cathedral Rock is iconic red rock formation in Sedona, United States. Atop the summit is an ancient Native American archaeological site with petroglyphs and views to the old and new red rock formations. At an elevation of 4,967 feet, the trail up to the summit is a strenuous 1.7 mile trek with an elevation gain of 1,460 feet. A highlight of the trail is the spectacular views of the Sedona region throughout the hike. The trail is fringed with bushes, scrub oaks, junipers, manzanitas, and red rock walls. Hiking the trail and reaching the top of the impressive Cathedral Rock is an unforgettable experience. Be sure to bring lots of water and wear appropriate hiking shoes!
