Catedral de Morelia, a stunning example of Mexican Baroque architecture, stands in Morelia's historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Construction began in 1660 and took over 84 years to complete, resulting in a grand facade with intricately carved pink stone, which appears almost golden during sunset—ideal for photo captures. Inside, the striking neoclassical altar featuring a resplendent organ from Germany contrasts beautifully against the ornate detailing of the interiors. The location is especially photogenic on Saturdays when the façade is illuminated with a light and sound show. Aim to capture the twin towers against a deep blue evening sky for a memorable shot. Nearby, pastel-hued colonial buildings provide a charming backdrop.
