The Catedral de Cafayate, located in the small town of the same name in Northeastern Argentina, is an impressive example of religious architecture. Built in the 19th century, it stands as a hallmark of what conceivably could be an Italian-style village. The limestone walls are decorated with bright paints and intricate stone designs, making it impossible to ignore despite its small size. Inside, you'll find three impressive alters, as well as a collection of frescoes and modern stained-glass windows. Pay attention to the designs around the doors, said to tell a story of the town's history in the 19th century. Don't forget to visit the nearby St. Francis Convent, which dates back to 1867.
