📍 Costa Rica
This waterfall lies within Rincón de la Vieja National Park, northeast of Liberia on the slopes of the Rincón de la Vieja volcanic complex. The park protects a striking transition from Guanacaste’s tropical dry forest to wetter highland forest, with streams cutting through rugged volcanic terrain. Here, bright water, dark rock and dense green vegetation create the defining visual contrast, while exposed roots, layered foliage and spray add texture at close range. The falls belong to a wider landscape shaped by volcanic activity, alongside fumaroles, hot springs and mud pots found elsewhere in the park.
