The Castle Hill Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse in Rhode Island and one of the oldest in the United States, located at Castle Hill Beach in Newport. The lighthouse was originally constructed in 1749 and still stands to this day. Built in classic New England style, the octagonal structure stands at 42 feet tall and is a must-see for any traveler to the New England coast. Visitors can also explore a small keeper’s cottage with historical museum artifacts. The lighthouse offers spectacular views of the shoreline, giving visitors the chance to experience a beautiful, serene landscape.
