Castillo Manzanares el Real is an ancient castle situated in the town of Manzanares El Real, near Madrid, Spain. The castle dates back to the 13th century and was a strategic watchtower of the former Muslim regions and later a refuge of the Catholic kings. It is known for its spectacular views of the nearby Sierra de Guadarrama, and has been used in several movies and TV series. The castle is still in great condition and can be visited between 10:30am and 7:30pm, with only a €3.50 ticket fee. Inside, you will find a museum, with weapons, furniture, paintings and archaeological finds from the local area. There is also a handicrafts market in the nearby town, where local artisans produce items such as wood carvings, pottery and basketry. Admire the views of the castle from the nearby village of Cedillo del Condado. This is a great spot to enjoy a real taste of Spanish history.
