Castello Vecchio di Duino and Castello di Duino are two historic castles located in the picturesque town of Duino, Italy, perched on the cliffs overlooking the Gulf of Trieste. Castello Vecchio, the older of the two, is mostly in ruins now but offers a glimpse into medieval architecture and the region's turbulent history. It was constructed in the 11th century and played a strategic role in the defense of the coast.

Castello di Duino, built in the 14th century, is a stunning example of Renaissance architecture and remains well-preserved. It has been owned by the same family, the Princes of Thurn and Taxis, for over 400 years. The castle is open to visitors and features a beautiful park, luxurious interiors, and breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea. It is also famously connected to the poet Rainer Maria Rilke, who wrote part of his "Duino Elegies" while staying here. The Rilke Trail, a scenic path linking the two castles, is a popular attraction for its dramatic coastal views.
