Este Castle, located in the city of Ferrara in Italy, is a beautiful 15th century fortification, housing an art museum and summer activities. Originally constructed in 1385 to guard the area near the Po river, the castle encompasses numerous courtyards and galleries, with both Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Inside, you can visit the historical rooms such as the massive Gates of Leone, the Hall of Justice, and the Ceremonial Hall. The Este library and numerous frescoes from the 16th and 17th centuries are well worth a visit. The tidal moat encircling the castle is easily accessible by foot and offers stunning views of the castle. Visitors can also enjoy a summer theater program located in the piazza inside the main entrance. The Este castle has become one of the most Instagrammed places in Italy!
