📍 From Riverside Walk, Italy
Castel Sant'Angelo, located in the heart of Rome, is a must-visit for any traveler. It started out as a mausoleum for Emperor Hadrian and his family in 139 AD, but was later used as a castle and even a papal fortress. Inside the castle walls, you can find Renaissance frescoes and sculptures, Baroque chapels, and even secret passageways to the Vatican City. It’s a great place to explore, but not one to miss as the museum also offers a spectacular view of Rome from its rooftop terrace. It even serves as a memorial to some of Rome’s heroes like the brave Germanicus who fought back against the barbarians. Whether you’re a history buff or photography enthusiast, Castel Sant'Angelo has something for you!
